Surveillance Pest Animals

Council's objective for surveillance pests is to collect information and keep records relating to the distribution, the impacts and the spread of these species and to educate the public as to their identification and most appropriate method of control.

Below are the species of pest animals currently classifed as surveillance pest animals in Marlborough.

  • Invasive Ants

    Invasive ants have a wide range of prey and food sources including native insects, seeds, honeydew, fruit and many household goods.
