Where Our Water Goes
Water is one of the Earth’s most precious resources. People cannot live for more than a few days without it. With no water, most life on Earth would cease to exist.
The amount of water on the Earth remains constant with only its form changing.
Saltwater makes up 97% of the Earth's surface water. Freshwater makes up only about 3%. One-third of our freshwater is available to us at any given time with the remainder bound in glaciers, ice sheets or underground reservoirs.
