Grants and Awards

This page provides information on a range of funding that Marlborough District Council either provides directly or administers on behalf of other organisations.  Application forms, and information on eligibility, criteria, and closing dates can be found here.

There is also information on awards for individuals and community groups.  These awards acknowledge excellence or contribution to the local community.

Grants

The Marlborough District Council recognises the important contribution made by community organisations to the overall well-being of Marlborough and its residents. To help organisations benefit the wider community, the Marlborough District Council makes funds available through:

Scholarships

Waiver of Fees

The waiving of building consent, resource consent and transfer station fees is an acknowledged way for Council to assist non profit organisations to reduce costs when developing facilities for community, social, recreational and cultural needs.

Awards

  • TrustPower Community Awards
    These awards recognise and reward the valuable contributions made by voluntary organisations in the community.
  • Queen Elizabeth II Award of Music Fund
    Annual award(s) for young Marlborough and Kaikoura music students who have attained Royal School of Music or Trinity College of Music Grade VIII instrumental or Grade VI vocal examination passes.
  • Environment Awards
    Held every two years to recognise and reward working examples of good environmental management of Marlborough's natural resources.
  • Marlborough Awards
    An award for individuals, companies, or organisations that have significantly benefited Marlborough. Special recognition is given to those who have created considerable job opportunities.
  • Civic Honours Awards
    Open to any person who has undertaken deserving service in the Marlborough District, which benefits the district.
