Queen Elizabeth II Award of Music Fund

The committee appointed to administer the above fund annually considers the granting of an award or awards to the Marlborough or Kaikoura candidate (or candidates) aged 18 or under who, in the previous year, passed the Royal School of Music or Trinity College of Music examinations Grade VIII instrumental or Grade VI vocal, whether or not the candidate was examined within the Marlborough District.

The residency qualification is a minimum of one year for residents of Marlborough or Kaikoura.  Students who happen to be temporarily resident in other centres are eligible.

The Awards Committee will consider all nominations received, but has the discretion not to make an award where, in its opinion, the nominations do not align with the prestigious nature of the award.

Nominations for the annual award close on 30 October each year.

There are no nomination forms but it is of assistance for the Awards Committee to receive background information supporting any nomination lodged.
