Marlborough District Council welcomes all campers to Marlborough - a region of beauty where water, wine and wilderness combine to create a relaxing escape.
All campers are asked to stay in commercial camp grounds, Department Of Conservation camps and other designated sites.

Whitebaiting Season - Wairau Diversion Camping Application
The whitebait season in Marlborough runs from 15 August to 30 November. Self-contained vehicles can apply for a permit from the Marlborough District Council to stay for a longer period than two nights while whitebaiting. At all times if you do not have a whitebaiting camping permit the maximum stay is two nights.
Permits for the 2013 whitebait season are available on the website and at Council offices from 1 May 2013. Permits to camp overnight will only be issued for the period from 15 August to 30 November.
