Awatere/Flaxbourne
Seddon Domain
For a small rural town, Seddon can rightfully boast that it has both one of the better sports grounds and one of the better public halls in the district. The adjoining public swimming pool, tennis courts, playground and campervan park all add to this excellent facility.

Tennis/Volleyball
The Seddon Domain is home to two new synthetic tennis courts. These are open to the public and free to use. They can be found next to the main pavilion. There is also a synthetic volleyball court next to the two synthetic tennis courts.

Awatere Community Pool
Council provides funding for public swimming at the Awatere community pool. This is an outdoor pool and is open between December and March. The Awatere pool is operated by the Awatere Settlers' Associatoin and is located at the Seddon Domain on Foster Street, Seddon.

This reserve is located 12 km in from State Highway 1 on the Awatere Valley Road. The reserve is situated between the road to the north, the Awatere River to the south and the outlet of the Blairich Stream to the west. When the Awatere River is in flood, water covers a large proportion of the reserve. This is one of Council's designated freedom camping sites (two night stay).

Ward Domain
A historic domain used for cricket and tennis and the annual Flaxbourne A & P Show.
Location: Ward.

Tennis
The Ward Domain has three tennis courts placed next to the playground. These are a hot mix. They are open to the public and free to use.

Ward Beach Reserve
An interesting exposed section of coast which is also used by the local fishing industry.
