Opawa at Elizabeth St Footbridge
The Opawa Loop at Elizabeth Street is popular with young people for swimming and jumping off the bridge. This site is tree-lined, and is set in the middle of a residential area. The water is deep and slow-moving and there are numerous ducks.
There is an average rainfall of 600 mm per year. Water quality is mostly affected by the high numbers of birds at and above the site. There are also stormwater outlets to the river. Rain events also affect water quality.
