Rai at Rai Falls

Rai FallsThe Rai Falls are just above the Pelorus Bridge. This has a stony riverbed surrounded by bush and rock outcrops. It is popular with fishermen and picnickers and is used by the Outward Bound School as a training ground for water activities.

There is an average yearly rainfall of 2,000mm. Water quality is affected by rainfall and intensive dairy farming in the catchment above the site.
