Waikawa Bay
Waikawa Bay is an enclosed bay in the Queen Charlotte Sound. The beach consists of sand and stones. The site is used for both boat launching and bathing. Boats are also moored in the bay.
The area experiences an increase in users over the summer period. There is an average yearly rainfall of 1,500mm. The main impact on the water quality has been found to be urban stormwater.
