Council is reviewing its Dog Control Policy and Bylaws and is seeking your views.

Dog Control Policy

The Dog Control Act 1996 makes better provision for the care and control of dogs. The Act places a greater responsibility on dog owners to comply with the requirements of the Act.

Accordingly Council's policies reflect this change by putting more emphasis into dog control, enforcement, prosecutions and responding to complaints and less emphasis on following up owners to ensure compliance with the Act.
