Mayoral Earthquake Fund

Applications for Financial Hardship Assistance

Round one of the Mayoral Earthquake Fund applications for emergency assistance prior to Christmas for individuals and families took place in December 2016.

The Fund is open again to individuals/families that meet the criteria stated in the Information Form.

Applications are required to be referred by a supporting agency such as Church, Red Cross, Rural Support Trust to verify the need for assistance. Please ensure that verification is either attached to the application or emailed through to Lyne Reeves email: lyne.reeves@marlborough.govt.nz.

Priority will be given to:

  • Essentials for daily life
  • Extra financial burden or costs due to the earthquake
  • Costs not covered by insurance or other funds such as Work and Income

Donations

Donations to the fund can be made via online banking to: 02 0600 0202861 00 with the reference: Mayor EQ or in person at the Marlborough District Council offices in Blenheim and Picton.
