Key Dates
Rates and charges for the Marlborough District Council year 2009-10 (1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010) were confirmed by Council on 25 June 2009.
Four rate instalment notices are sent out each financial year. Each instalment is one quarter of the annual rates for the current year. Payments are applied to the oldest debt first.

Penalty Provisions (Additional Charges on Unpaid Rates)
A penalty equivalent in amount to 10% of the instalment amount remaining unpaid at the close of day on the "last date for payment" shall on the next day be added to that amount of unpaid rates.
Pursuant to Sections 57/58 of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002, a further penalty of 10% will be added to all rates and charges that remain unpaid on 30 June 2010. In This Section:

The Marlborough District was revalued by Quotable Value Ltd on 1 July 2008. The new values apply from the 2009-10 rating year.
