Council operates an E-Waste facility for the collection of unwanted electronic goods. This is located on the Wither Road Extension at the western end of Wither Road opposite the Resource Recovery Centre.
The facility will accept electronic items, which are then sent on to Metal Corps in Christchurch for processing. Metal Corps will recover, reuse or recycle electronic components, metals and plastics from the collected items.
For more details on Metal Corps and their process please visit www.escraprecycling.co.nz.

TV Takeback
With effect from Monday 25 March, 2013 the Government will be rolling out a TV Takeback scheme in parts of the South Island, including Marlborough. This is linked to the Digital Switchover on 28 April, 2013 and provides a subsidised rate of $5 per TV, for households wishing to recycle unwanted TVs. The Marlborough region has been allocated an allowance of 2,062 TVs. Once this allocation of 2,062 has been used up the TV recycling price would revert to the normal charge of up to $15 per item.
Details on the other TV Takeback recycling points can be found at http://www.tvtakeback.govt.nz/where-can-i-recycle. If you don’t live in Blenheim you can take your unwanted TV and other E-Waste items to any of the Council transfer stations.
You don’t have to throw out your old TV but if you want to receive a TV signal after 28 April, 2013 you will have to ensure the equipment is capable of receiving a digital signal. See below for more information on the digital switchover.
