Rainfall

Marlborough District Council maintains a network of rainfall monitoring sites using electronic technology. Data is transmitted direct to Council's Blenheim office.

This information is generally updated at one to six hour intervals, depending on site location and more regularly during heavy rain events. Information for nearby sites operated by Tasman District Council (TDC) is available on their Rainfall Maps and Graphs page.

The data displayed is received directly from Council's rainfall sites via radio or cell phone. At times, due to technical issues, data may be incorrect, or not completely up to date.

River levels

River Level Alarms are triggered when the level enters a high or low state. The list of active alarms is automatically updated on Councils Hydrotel System.

All consent holders should be aware of their consent conditions, and check flows regularly, to ensure that they are complying.

Caution

Caution should be exercised if using data for decisions that may concern public safety, or the conduct of business that involves monetary or operational consequences.
