Voting for the 2016 Council Elections is by way of postal vote during the period 16 September to 12 noon on Saturday 8 October.
Voting packs will be posted (between 16 and 21 September 2016) to all resident and non-resident ratepayer electors whose names appeared on the final Electoral Roll when it closes on 12 August 2016.
Resident electors who are not listed on the final Electoral Rolls for these elections can enrol at NZ PostShops, telephoning 0800 36 76 56 or via the Elections website elections.org.nz up to 4.00 pm on Friday 7 October 2016.
Non-resident ratepayer electors who are not listed on the final Electoral Rolls for these elections can enrol by contacting the Electoral Officer at the Council office in Blenheim (contact details) up to 4.00 pm on Friday 7 October 2016.
Electors may post their completed voting documents back to the Electoral Officer using the pre-paid envelope sent with the voting document. There will be a ballot box available in the foyer of the Council office in Blenheim and this will be available from 16 September to 12 noon on Saturday on Saturday 8 October 2016. Votes may also be hand delivered to the Picton office.
Special voting facilities will be available during normal office hours between Friday 16 September and Friday 7 October 2016 and from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon on Saturday 8 October 2016 at the Council office, 15 Seymour Street, Blenheim 7201 for those electors:
- whose names do not appear on the final electoral roll, but who qualify as electors;
- who did not receive a voting document;
- who spoil or damage a voting document previously posted to them;
- whose name appears on the unpublished electoral roll.
