Code of Practice for Subdivision and Land Development

In the Standard Requirements Chapter, there is a section 2.7, titled Relationship to Code of Practice for Subdivision and Development that refers to Council's Code of Practice for Subdivision and Land Development (ISBN 0-95583398-8-0). This Code has been reviewed.

Marlborough's Code of Practice for Subdivision and Land Development is now based on "New Zealand Standard 4404:2004 Land Development and Subdivision Engineering" (Standard). Modifications and amendments required to suit local conditions and practice have been documented in an Addendum produced by the Marlborough District Council. Clauses within the Addendum have been reproduced from NZS4404:2004 with the permission of Standards New Zealand under Licence 00072.

Council approved the release of the Addendum on 26 June 2008. The Addendum has been designed to be used in conjunction with the Standard. NZS4404:2004 can be purchased from Standards New Zealand.

Ongoing Review

Council has agreed to continue the review process and will commence reviewing the resource management plan to bring it into line with the Standard.
