The Council has several monitoring responsibilities under the Resource Management Act 1991. These include monitoring the state of all or any part of the environment, so that it can effectively carry out its functions under the Act and assess the suitability and effectiveness of its Regional Policy Statement and Resource Management Plans. To effect this, a detailed State of the Environment Monitoring Report for Marlborough is prepared every five years, with environmental update reports prepared for the years in between.
Copies of the report and updates are held in several libraries around New Zealand, as well as at the Council's offices. Click HERE for the locations.
