A sub-menu will offer a range of sizes from which to choose. Downloading Files
Where possible, sizes of downloadable files are shown in kilobytes (kb). This will give you an indication of how long the download will take, e.g., a 100kb file on a 56kb modem may take about half a minute to download, while a 1mb (1000kb) file might take 5 minutes (15 minutes on a rural modem). If you encounter problems downloading a file when clicking a link, (or want to view the pdf full screen) use the right mouse button to click over the link to access a links menu. If you use Microsoft Explorer choose "Save Target As..." from the menu to save the file. If you use Netscape Navigator choose "Save Link As..." from the menu to save the file. Once you have saved the file you can then go to it and open it directly (usually with the pdf viewer).
Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader
Many of the downloadable files in this site are in PDF format. This retains full layout details and enables you to pan and zoom around the file (great for diagrams, maps, etc). When you double click on a PDF file it should download for immediate or later viewing on your PC. What you will need is a version 4 or later of the Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader. Click the Adobe Acrobat icon below to download the latest version of Acrobat. Content that requires the Adobe Acrobat PDF viewer will be indicated with the letters PDF and the size of the file. PDF files can be opened with Acrobat Reader or even just double clicking the file icon.
