Inspections and inspection booking
The Building Control Group continues to undertake inspections under COVID-19 Level 2.
Inspections can be booked in the usual way, by calling 03 520 7405. Please allow a minimum of 48 hours.
Our safety procedures
We are following Ministry of Health, Local Government and Council guidelines for this activity, to ensure the safety of our officers, and anyone on site. The workplace measures that our officers will be following on site visits include social distancing, not touching shared surfaces such as paperwork, restrictions on shared vehicle use, and frequent sanitation of all vehicle surfaces regularly touched.
What you need to do
If you have any specific requirements from your own Level 2 response plans that you need our officers to follow when carrying out inspections, please advise us when you make an inspection booking.
Key points to remember are to:
- Respect one another’s ‘bubble’ - avoid entering confined spaces together
- Please do not touch or lean on Council vehicles
- Continue to avoid sharing paperwork. Please email any documentation such as site amendments, applications for CCC etc to email@example.com prior to the inspection. You must include the building consent number in your email.
Duty Building Officer
There will be no counter enquiries or meetings during Alert Level 2. This situation will be reconsidered as Level 2 progresses. Duty enquiries can be made online.
Applying for a building consent
As at Level 3, applications can continue to be submitted online and will be vetted and processed just as they usually would be.
