Kerbside collections that fall on a public holiday will now be picked up on that public holiday, not an alternative day as previously occurred.
This means if your kerbside collection day falls on a public holiday we will collect your Council rubbish bag and recycling crate on the day of the public holiday.
|Public holiday||Day||Date||Collection day||Date|
|Good Friday||Friday||10 April 2020||Friday||10 April 2020|
|Easter Sunday||Monday||13 April 2020||Monday||13 April 2020|
|ANZAC Day||Monday||27 April 2020||Monday||27 April 2020|
Please ensure you have your crate and bags at the kerb by 7.30 am on your collection day.
Blenheim and Picton residents are urged to use the kerbside rubbish and recycling services rather than traveling to transfer stations during the lockdown period.
Under the Level 4 COVID-19 restrictions, transfer stations will only accept bagged waste to ensure the health and safety of contractors and of the public during this time.
Council’s Solid Waste Manager, Alec McNeil said transfer stations should not be seeing people with green waste, or people with trailers attempting to dispose of household items. Now is not the time to bring unwanted items to the transfer station.”
Landfill sites will continue to operate as normal for commercial waste operators
