The Deep South Initiative, part of the National Science Challenge, has focused on climate change science, including the social sciences such as community resilience.

Local Government Funding and Financing
The Productivity Commission has issued a draft report on Local Government Funding and Financing. The Report identifies climate change as one of four key areas where the existing funding model is insufficient to address cost pressures and where new tools are required. It earlier released a report on the transition to a low emissions economy.
