An energy efficient home will save you money and help our environment. They are more comfortable to live in, being warmer and drier year-round, which has a major impact on the health of the people who live there.
Becoming energy efficient in your home is simple and there are plenty of ways to start. The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority’s (EECA) Energywise website offers lots of advice on energy efficiency, plus information on financial assistance.

Warmer Healthy Homes Programme
Eligibility for the Warmer Healthier Homes programme in Marlborough requires that the homeowner/tenant has a valid Community Services Card or SuperGold Card with Community Services Card endorsement.
Secondly, referrals are prioritised for people/families with chronic health conditions or households with children under 17 years or people over 65 years.
If you meet these criteria, please contact your local GP service or nurse practitioner and ask to be referred to this programme.

Over the last four years the Government has supported the installation of insulation into more than 230,000 homes, under EECA's Warm Up New Zealand: Heat Smart programme.
The Marlborough District Council is offering an energy efficiency funding service to ratepayers for an approved home clean heating installation.
For this service Council will provide funding for the cost of an approved home insulation solution which will be recovered over nine years through a targeted homeowner property rate.
The MDC is offering an energy efficiency funding service to ratepayers for an approved solar water heating solution.
