Caution on recovery roads with heavy rain forecast this weekend

Caution is advised on the roads affected by the August 2022 weather event this weekend, with heavy rain forecast from Friday evening.
MetService has rain warnings in place for Rai Valley with up to 130mm of rain forecast between 10.00 pm tonight and 7.00 pm on Saturday 29 October 2022.
There is also heavy rain forecast for Havelock and the Kenepuru Sounds area.
Road users are urged to exercise caution during and after periods of rain. In the event of heavy rain roads could close with no warning due to slips or other hazards.
Extreme care should continue to be exercised on Kenepuru Road between Moetapu Bay and The Heads. This road remains restricted to residents and emergency service access only with a number of restrictions in place. Road users are advised not to use this section of Kenepuru Road in heavy rain.
