From 8pm Thursday 25 June to 6pm Friday 26 June, severe southerly gales up to 120km/h are forecast for east of Seddon and the Marlborough Sounds. Secure loose items, be prepared for fallen trees, road hazards and possible power outages. Fully extinguish burn piles. Drive with caution, especially in high-sided vehicles and motorcycles. Ferries will be affected but the Picton Harbour is open for small boats seeking shelter; delay boating if possible.
