Marlborough has a large number of lunch bars and cafes that serve its workers and visitors. It is estimated that we have more cafes per head of population than New York.
The number of meals produced every day in Marlborough would be in the tens of thousands. This represents a considerable risk if food is not prepared, cooked, and stored in a safe manner.

Where do I start?
For many, the task of starting out in the food business is a daunting proposition. Please consult your Environmental Health Officer with any questions or problems relating to the food business. In many cases, such consultation has saved time and money for the operator.
More information on food premises is available by contacting your Environmental Health Officers by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or on phone: 03 520 7400.
