Burning Waste

To minimise air pollution and smoke nuisance there are rules you must follow if intending to burn waste. These relate to where and what you can burn.

In addition, you may need to a fire permit from Fire and Emergency New Zealand.

  • Are you in the Blenheim Airshed?

    You cannot have an open-air fire within the Blenheim Airshed, even if you have a fire permit issued by Fire and Emergency New Zealand.

  • Burning Guides

    In an industrial zone, you cannot burn anything in the open unless you have obtained a resource consent.
