Grape Marc, Grass and Greenwaste Repurposing Project

Council is investigating options for the re-purposing of grape marc, grass and greenwaste through a research project with Massey University.

The project objectives are:

  • Establish research scope of works by March 2019 - completed
  • Use the 2019 harvest to provide grape marc for the purposes of lab research as required – completed
  • Produce a report showing options for re-purposing grape marc material into a stable, reusable product by December 2019. This will be completed through a contract with Massey University
  • Develop the scope for the stage 2 project (operationalisation) by May 2020.
