Rural Community Recycling (RCR)

Council currently has RCR containers located at Grovetown, Spring Creek, Rapaura, Tuamarina, Foxs Island (Renwick), Waihopai, Awatere Valley Road and Okiwi Bay.

Foxs Island (Renwick) Location

Due to refurbishment of the community hall the recycling container has been relocated to Foxs Island Road next to the new dog park.

Trial sites

Containers are being trialled in Seddon and on the Port Underwood Road area towards Oyster Bay during 2018-19.

What can I put in these recycling containers?

  • Plastic (1 to 7)
  • Cans (steel and aluminium)
  • Glass bottles/jars (clear, brown and green)
  • Cardboard
  • Paper (glossies, newspapers, office papers)

What shouldn’t be put in the recycling containers?

  • Rubbish
  • Plate glass eg; windows

Service issues

Do not leave any material outside the container. If it is full then take your items away and report the issue on Freephone: 0800 355 005.
