Drinking-Water Quality Assurance Rules
The Water Services Act 2021 came into force in on 4 October 2021, replacing the Drinking Water Standards for NZ. Council's water supplies are managed in accordance with the Act and Drinking Water Quality Assurance Rules set by the Drinking Water Regulator.
The water services regulator is The Water Services Authority - Taumata Arowai, which took over from the Ministry of Health in November 2021.
