Proposed temporary road closure - 31 December, Picton

The following portion of car park and road will be closed to ordinary vehicle traffic for the Picton New Year celebrations, from Sunday 31 December 2023 to early morning Monday 1 January 2024:

• London Quay: High Street intersection to the intersection of London Quay and Wellington Street from 6pm on 31 December to 2.00 am on 1 January 2024
• The car park adjacent to the former Picton cinema site, from the raised crossing including the eastern side of the car park from 8.30 am on 31 December to 2.00 am on 1 January 2024

During the period of closure, ordinary vehicular traffic may use the road being closed between events under the supervision and authority of an Officer of the New Zealand Police (Traffic Safety Branch).

It will be an offence under the above regulations for any person other than under the authority of an authorised permit to use the road for ordinary vehicular traffic during the period of closure.

This notice is given pursuant to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965.

Persons wishing to object are to lodge their objection in writing before 14 December 2023 at Marlborough Roads, The Forum, Market Street, Blenheim, PO Box 1031, Blenheim, 7240.
