Temporary Road Closure - George St

Downer has been contracted to remove an existing Chorus pole and copper wires that run across the road as well as locate the existing fibre lateral outside 40 George Street – Blenheim.

Downer requires the road to be temporarily closed on the 18th of September when contractors are removing the chorus pole and existing services with a contingency date of the 19th of September.

• Road closure will not be installed until 9:00am due to morning traffic, signage can be installed an hour before at 8:00am in preparation of the road closure.
• Contractors are to utilize the road closure to park any work vehicles or plant.
• Properties within the road closure will be monitored, the STMS is to ensure that any traffic wanting to access these properties may do so safely.
• Road closure points will be monitored and will have personnel assigned to both road closure points and will assist public when needed.
• Footpath Closure will have personnel on site to assist and escort pedestrians through the workspace when present and safe to do so.
• Pedestrians and the footpath will be monitored at all times and the STMS is to ensure that there is a safe and clear route for pedestrians when present.
