Major repairs on a large overslip and river scour on Northbank Road were completed last month.
Over 18000m3 of unstable material was removed from the large overslip 17km from the start of the road, prior to drainage improvements and reinstatement of the road. Works allowed for the road to be returned to two lanes and traffic lights removed,
Five kilometres further up the road, crews have worked hard to repair a river scour, restore the pavement to road level and complete scour protection along the riverbank.
Finishing works, including sealing, will be completed at both sites when ground conditions allow.
