Picton drinking water
Over the summer months, you may notice a different taste to your drinking water if you live in Picton. This is because over the drier months the Council’s groundwater supply is topped up with water from Barnes Dam, a surface water supply flowing through a bush catchment. While the water is treated with UV and chlorine, it can have quite a different odour and taste. Residents should not be concerned - this is normal and the water is completely safe to drink.
