Kids' Summer Reading Programme

Keen young readers can register for Marlborough District Libraries Summer Reading Programme over the next few weeks!

Registrations are open at the District Library in Blenheim and at the Picton Library and Service Centre on Monday 18 December.

The programme is for children aged 5 to 12 years old and is free of charge for participants. Parents or caregivers need to visit the library to register. Children do not have to be present at enrolment. This year 275 places are available for participants at Marlborough District Library (Blenheim) and 70 places available at the Picton Library and Service Centre. Places are expected to fill fast so visit your local library early to ensure you don’t miss out!

Parents or caregivers need to visit the library to register. Children do not have to be present at enrolment. They will receive an information pack and folder for their child to record their reading over the programme’s duration.

To complete the Summer Reading Programme children need to visit the library four times. After each visit participants will receive a prize to keep up their motivation. All children who complete the programme are awarded a book prize and a certificate.
