Market Street Revamp – Wynen Street intersection closure

From the evening of Sunday 30 August until Sunday 20 September 2026, the Stage 1 Market Street Revamp road closure will be extended to include the Market Street/Wynen Street intersection.
Wynen Street will be closed to vehicles between First Lane and Market Street. Access to the Wynen Street car park will remain available.
During this period there will also be no vehicle access to the one-way section of Market Street between Wynen Street and High Street.
The closure is required to enable construction of the Market Street/Wynen Street intersection to be completed concurrently with the remaining Stage 1 works.
The closure will remain in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Pedestrian access to businesses will continue to be maintained throughout the works, and emergency services will always be accommodated.
The Market Street Revamp is being delivered as a single, coordinated construction programme to maximise efficiencies and reduce the overall construction timeframe.
