Aberharts Road culvert construction to support new water source

Work is due to begin on a new concrete pipe culvert crossing on Aberharts Road, about 100 metres from State Highway 1.
The culvert will carry water from a proposed new bore near Aberharts Road into the canal alongside the road, forming part of a new water source for Blenheim's water supply. This is part of ongoing work to strengthen the resilience of Blenheim's water network.
The $80,000 project will be carried out by Elite Excavations, starting in early October and finishing by the end of October.
We are aiming to keep disruption to a minimum, but a full road closure may be needed for up to two weeks. Detours will be available via Lower Wairau Road, Fell Street and Vickerman Street. The contractor will provide updates on traffic changes as work progresses.
