Awatere Valley Road – Road Closure

Awatere Valley Road at Cam Corner, 10.5km up the valley from Jordan Bridge, remains closed to all traffic.
Following further heavy rain, geotechnical inspections have identified further instability in the upper slope above the bridge. A large crack has developed, and the slip is actively moving. Crews continue working to remove the estimated 3000m3 of additional material at the top of the slope to stabilise the corner. Over 15,000m3 of material has already been moved from this site.
The road status of Awatere Valley Road at Cam Corner, remains closed until at least 23 October.
Public wishing to access Molesworth Station will need to do so from the Hanmer end.
There will be no access via Awatere Valley.
