Harbours Drone Application
Prior to applying the Operator must confirm:
- They either have Part 102 with notification privileges and/or CAA approved qualification.
- The operation complies with the Marlborough District Council remotely piloted aircraft system policy.
Instructions on how to apply:
- Click here to log your flight in Airshare and log into your account (note if you don’t have an account, you must register as a drone operator).

- Navigate to the Flight Planning section.
- Select “log a flight” - draw the boundary of your flight area.
- Input your flight date and time.
- Specify the purpose of the operation (e.g. photography, mapping etc).
- Specify if operating under Part 101 or Part 102.
- Add contact details and any relevant notes for airspace users.
- Check for NOTAMs (Notices to Airmen) and any temporary restrictions.
- Ensure there are no conflicts with other scheduled flights.
- Review all details for accuracy.
- Click “Submit” to file your flight plan.
- You will receive a notification that your application has been received and visibility to other airspace users.
- This flight will then be sent to the Harbourmaster team for review. They will advise whether the flight has been authorised or declined.
- Update or cancel your flight if plans change.
- Activate your flight in the app before you take off and terminate it once complete.
