Calling all potters, singers, writers, sculptors - in fact anyone who has a creative bent or a venue for artistic activity.
The new Creative Marlborough website, launching soon, features a directory highlighting creative people, groups and spaces across the region. And if you’re a member of the arts and creative community in Marlborough, it’s the perfect place to promote yourself.
Arts, Culture and Heritage Manager Nicola Neilson said it was vital for creatives to use any avenue possible to raise their profile.
“Creative Marlborough is all about celebrating the incredible depth of talent, spaces and creative practice across our region,” she said. “This new directory will make it easier for people to discover and connect with our creative community. We encourage all artists, practitioners, groups and venues to take a few minutes to write their profile - your input will help ensure the platform is vibrant, consistent, and truly representative of Marlborough’s creative sector.”
Submissions are reviewed and verified by Creative Marlborough editors before publication and only creative people, groups and spaces active in Marlborough will be accepted. Go to Councils website and click on the Events and Bookings tab, then go to Creative Directory - application form.
Profiles (a minimum of 200 words), should be written in the first person and reflect your creative practice, experience and professional work. Clear, well-structured writing that represents your practice professionally is encouraged, accompanied by a high quality photo.
