Marlborough Roads crews have continued to assess roads throughout the region. There remain areas of surface flooding and drivers are urged to travel with caution and to the conditions in any flood affected areas.
The length of Northbank Road has been assessed. The flooding at Bartletts Creek has subsided and the road is now open for the first 44km (2.5km after Noels Bridge) where trees are blocking the road. There is a crew onsite working to regain access at this location. There are also trees down on Northbank Road at ‘the staircase’, approximately 35km from the start of the road, the road is passable at this point, driving with caution is advised.
On Top Valley Road there is a scour across the road, 1.4km from the start of the road and driving with caution is advised.
Jones Road is flooded and the road is closed.
Flooding has subsided on Opouri Road, and the road is now open.
