A one lane closure is required where Maxwell Road meets Main Street in central Blenheim from tomorrow.
The closure, from Tuesday 22 September to Friday 23 October, will enable the construction of the Maxwell Road/Main Street intersection and is part of the Market Street Revamp.
Maxwell Road/Main Street will be closed to eastbound traffic (vehicles travelling towards Symons Street). A detour via Queen Street will be available. Westbound traffic (travelling towards Queen Street) will remain open.
The zebra crossing next to the Maxwell Road and Market Street intersection will also be closed with temporary crossing points made available nearby for pedestrians.
From Tuesday 29 September to Wednesday 4 October the northern end of Scott Street will also be closed. A detour via Kinross Street will be available.
These closures will remain in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Pedestrian access to businesses will continue to be maintained throughout the Market Street Revamp and emergency services will always be accommodated.
The Market Street Revamp is being delivered as a single, coordinated construction programme to maximise efficiencies and reduce the overall construction timeframe.
