Councillors’ roles on website
Marlborough’s Mayor and councillors, your elected representatives, play an important role in the local community, representing your interests and helping to shape local policy.
Elected officials enable local decision-making for the benefit of the community, to provide good quality infrastructure, public services and regulatory functions. .
There is now a dedicated page on Council’s website where all elected officials are profiled, along with their list of responsibilities and assignments.
Mayor Nadine Taylor and all Marlborough councillors are listed along with the committees, sub-committees, working groups and panels they are part of, as well as any portfolios they hold.
This makes it easy if you have a query about a specific concern and are not quite sure who to contact.
Mayor Taylor said the new web page provided a detailed and comprehensive list of councillor’s roles in Council and was a way people could familiarise themselves with their work.
“Now there is a complete list of each councillor’s responsibilities making it simple for the community to decide who to contact for a specific issue,” she said.
