Control of aquatic weed in water courses

Council’s programme to control noxious aquatic weeds in open drains within the drainage channel network runs through until 8 January 2027.

Spraying will take place in Council-maintained drains and watercourses on the Lower Wairau plain, east of Jacksons and Grahams roads.

Noxious aquatic weed control by chemical injection will also take place during November in;

• Tuamarina River between the rail bridge and Wairau confluence
• Upper Ōpaoa River between Lansdowne Park and the rail bridge

The spray and injection operations are undertaken in accordance with the Marlborough Environment Plan Vol 2 (section 2.18.11).
