Eltham Road cycle lane changes complete
Blenheim Ward councillor Deborah Dalliessi has advocated for changes to the Eltham Road cycle lane
Alterations to the Eltham Road cycle lane in Blenheim have been welcomed by residents and the wider community including schools in the wider area.
The works were completed over the Easter school holiday to remove raised concrete separators, reinstate the road on the eastern side and return roadside parking.
Painted cycle lanes are now in place in both directions which is in-keeping with other cycle lanes across Marlborough.
Marlborough Roads Area Manager Wayne Oldfield thanked the local community and users for their patience while the works were completed.
“Over the coming month, Marlborough Roads will continue to monitor the new layout to ensure it meets the needs of cyclists, the local community and road users,” Mr Oldfield said.
The changes were made to the cycle lane following community concerns about the loss of some parking, impact on property access and the safety of users.
