The future is bright for Marlborough youth

The Future of Work 2026 showcased a wide range of jobs in various sectors proving there are plenty of pathways right here in Marlborough for young people.
Around 1900 students across years 9 to 13 from Marlborough Boys’ and Girls’ Colleges, Queen Charlotte College, Richmond View, Rai Valley Area School and Te Kura took part.
The whanau and student session also continued to be popular with more than 400 students and their families visiting in the evening.
Community Partnerships Advisor Jodie Griffths said there was great engagement on the day.
“Students could see the wide range of jobs which exist right here. It was also a chance for them to have conversations connecting pathways of study via tertiary providers to lead to real life job opportunities in Marlborough,” Mrs Griffiths said.
“A wide range of businesses, education providers and volunteer groups come together to make this a truly unique Marlborough community event.”
Marlborough Chamber of Commerce Executive Officer Kylie Cornelius said it was a “brilliant day”.
“We were proud to partner with Council and the colleges for this fantastic event. I would also like to acknowledge the exhibitors who gave up their time to share the career pathways in their industry,” Mrs Cornelius said.
