This 200 hectare recreation reserve, located between Picton and Waikawa, has been ecologically assessed and ranked as having medium ecological values. The reserve is used intensively by locals and visitors for walking and mountain biking with over 20 km of tracks located within the domain.
Rapid recovery back to natural vegetation has taken place over much of this former cleared and farmed peninsula. To assist this process, ongoing control continues on wilding pine, wattle, false acacia, old man's beard, banana passionfruit and numerous other invasive weed species. Possum, goat and pig control also takes place periodically to reduce vegetation damage. A Weed Pest Management Plan was prepared in 2008 and assists with prioritising control efforts.
