My principal place of residence is in the Marlborough Sounds Ward area.
Following the sale of a business my partner and I retired here from Auckland in 2019. I did so for many of the reasons that you live here too. Ours is a wonderful town and rohe, but it faces challenges – economic as well as environmental. My interest in representing this Ward is to assist where I can with the strengthening of our community so that it is an even better place for you and our grandchildren to live and work. My professional experience includes teaching and commercial fishing; executive management in science and technology, and finance; the creation of an export manufacturing business; and extensive offshore consultancy in business and brand strategy. I hold a bachelor of arts and masters of business administration. And a very fine dog.
Barbara FAULLS
My principal place of residence is in the Marlborough Sounds Ward area.
Having grown up on a dairy farm in Linkwater, and owning a farm-based tourism business, I have a clear understanding of the urban and rural issues faced by our small Council.
As a two term Councillor for the Marlborough Sounds Ward, I have listened to residents and have tried to achieve commonsense community led solutions that benefit a wide range of Marlburians.
I have a particular interest in results-focused environmental and infrastructure projects and will continue to encourage progress in our small townships whilst recognising the balance required for whole of community wellbeing and economic growth.
I have provided an interface for residents and communities in times of severe stress during floods and road closures, not to mention the stresses of everyday life.
I am hard working and will continue to advocate for open, honest communication, representing you with commitment, integrity and respect.

My principal place of residence is in the Marlborough Sounds Ward area.
I was born and raised in Marlborough, living and working in the Sounds in my early life then returning with my wife to live in Lochmara Bay. Previously I ran a marketing services business in Wellington, was a Director of Wellington Rugby and Chairman of the NZ Marketing Association.
Since coming to Picton I have started lecturing at NMIT in Business and Marketing, been engaged as Secretary to the Picton Business Group, bought into a backpackers lodge in Picton and joined the Queen Charlotte Sound Residents Association Committee. All while renovating my house with boat access only.
These varied roles have shown me the great value that Picton, Waikawa, Havelock and the hinterland have to offer to Marlborough, the investment required and the challenges they face. I believe we need a strong commercial base in these areas supporting a vibrant local community while sustaining the environment and rural ecosystems.
Raylene INNES
My principal place of residence is in the Marlborough Sounds Ward area.
As Sounds Ward Councillor this past three years, I’ve very much enjoyed working and supporting the people/communities of Marlborough. Some highlights have been working on both the Housing for Seniors Committee and the Environment and Planning Committee, especially as I’m a passionate supporter for our coastal and marine environments.
I have a practical common-sense solutions-based approach to decision making. I have proven governance experience and leadership skills, along with excellent people and communication skills. I’ve a background in construction, and extensive experience in the tourism sector.
My priorities are ensuring our must-haves are delivered well, e.g. roads, water, waste, while enhancing Marlborough to meet future needs, be it environmentally, socially or for economic strength. I believe in local voices influencing local choices.

Kia ora, I'm Anteisha – a proud Waitohi Picton local with strong intergenerational ties to the Marlborough Sounds. I'm dedicated to bringing a fresh energy and a long-term commitment to the wellbeing of our communities and environment.
I care deeply about the future of our beautiful backyard with a long family history here, and I believe our rural communities need a strong representative voice at the Council table. I support Marlborough District Council's long-term priorities, especially enhancing environmental sustainability, investing in resilient infrastructure, and, supporting effective, thriving, connected communities.
I will advocate for responsible water, marine and land use, better roading and local transport connections, restoration outcomes, and community wellbeing. Our unique place deserves a Council that listens, plans wisely, and protects what makes the Sounds so special.
If elected, I'll serve with integrity, courage, and a forward-thinking mindset. Together, we can shape a resilient future for the Marlborough Sounds.

ACT Local: Real Change. Lower Rates.
My principal place of residence is in the Marlborough Sounds Ward area.
Ratepayers have been let down by Marlborough District Council with out-of-control rates hikes, neglected public services and wasteful spending on vanity projects. It’s time to give Council a wake-up call and focus on what our community needs.
As a Picton local, and someone involved with organisations across Marlborough, I understand the problems our community faces. My background working with hydrology and the climate means I know how to solve these complex issues, particularly around delivering core infrastructure like sewerage systems, flood protection and well-maintained roads.
By voting for me as an ACT Local candidate, you know what you are going to get: I will cap rates, deliver core infrastructure like maintaining our roads, improve public safety through flood protection and reliable drinking water, and bring better accessibility to our town centres.
