The Marlborough First Light Foundation is a charitable trust formed to help young people to attend an Outward Bound course.
Outward Bound is based at Anakiwa in the Marlborough Sounds. The organisation offers courses that show people of all ages their full potential through outdoor challenge and adventure. Course objectives include self development and social development with a focus on values, the environment and service to the community. Participants learn through experience and take part in physical activities and adventures that challenge them mentally, emotionally and physically. Courses are tailored for various age ranges.
The Marlborough First Light
Foundation charitable trust offers funding primarily for residents of the
Marlborough and Kaikoura District Council regions aged 16 to 26, although
applicants up to age 40 may be considered.
