Alcohol Control in Public Places
Explanatory Note
The Local Government Act 2002 gives Council the authority to control the consumption and possession of alcohol in public places. Council can create ongoing alcohol control areas or temporary alcohol control areas for special events in public places.
The aim of this Bylaw is to control the consumption of alcohol in areas where Police have identified concerns that the consumption of alcohol may result in disorderly behaviour and criminal offending.
