We recommend downloading the Antenno App to receive kerbside collection alerts for your area.
All you need to do is install the app from the App Store or Google Play and save places you care about, such as your home, work, rental property or school. Antenno will notify you when something relevant to your chosen place(s) arises.

How do I get rid of green waste?
Green waste cannot be put in the red waste bin. Council encourages people to compost at home if possible. Otherwise, you can take green waste to the facility in Blenheim and Picton (there is a charge for this). There are also a number of commercial operators who will pick up green waste from your property for a monthly fee.
Can I change the size of my bin?
You can change the size of your bin by contacting Council. Fees and charges may apply when upsizing to a bigger bin.

What day do I put my bin out on a public holiday?
Kerbside collection will continue on all public holidays, except for Christmas Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day. On these days, collection will be on the following calendar day.
If in doubt – leave it out. We will be by to collect it.
Will the glass only crate be collected on the same day as the recycling bin?
Yes. Place both bins directly on the kerb, 50 cm apart. Ensure bins are placed clear of other objects and not under trees or near road signs.
Please note the yellow recycling bin and the maroon glass crate are collected the same day but by different trucks. Don’t panic if you see one has not been emptied. A second truck will come along at some stage to empty it.
How do I place my bin on the kerb for collection?
Please make sure you have your bin ready directly on the kerb by 7am on collection day.
Place bins and glass crate 50 cm apart and clear of all other objects such as trees and road signs. Ensure lids are shut flat with no additional waste/recycling on top or surrounding the bin. The lid opening should be kerbside facing. Do not overpack bins - keep items loose.
Will any new expansion areas in the future include my property?
We will be reviewing collection areas in the future.
Where do I place my incontinence products?
All incontinence products, nappies and dog poo bags can go directly in your red waste bin.
How long can I use my supply of rubbish bags?
Council rubbish bags are no longer collected kerbside. They can be disposed of, at no cost, at transfer stations, the Waste Sorting Centre or the Resource Recovery Centre.
How is the kerbside collection service funded?
The service is paid for via a targeted rate.
This means that only households in the area of service are charged. This is a separate charge from other rates and will be listed on future rating statements as Kerbside Rubbish and Recycling Charge.
How is the targeted rate calculated?
The calculation of the targeted rate includes all costs associated with the service and is divided by the number of households within the area of service. This ensures that all households within the area of service pay the same amount.
How much does the service cost me annually?
For residential kerbside collection:
| Low volume | 80 litres | $156 annually |
|---|---|---|
| Standard volume | 140 litres | $178.50 annually |
| High volume | 240 litres | $223 annually |
For commercial (outside of CBD). General waste only:
| Low volume | 80 litres | $91 annually |
|---|---|---|
| Standard volume | 140 litres | $113.50 annually |
